Furry Tailor is for the most part a one person fursuit/ costume making business run by myself, Charna Hodson. Occasionally my very helpful mother in law Jackie Hodson lends us her skills too.

My fursona is a species I made up called an Omnikin, hybrid of everything, and she is named Mipsy. She most represents me, yet I haven't made a fursuit of her as I get more excited about making and fursuiting as other characters in order to express different personalities, or I'm more keen to start the next commissioned project. I find it so interesting how each fursuit ends up with a unique personality, and so surprising how well that often matches with the commissioner. Getting to see them in person or come to life in photos and videos brings me so much joy, so please do send me/ tag me in any photos/videos of you wearing any of my creations, as I really do love to see them come to life.

I'm based in the UK, born in Cambridge and visit my beloved family there frequently, and I recently moved to Warrington to make a comfortable life with my husband Alexander Hodson / Drian Vernai with our cat Kira and through this I'm able to make use of a dedicated room for fursuit making.

I started making fursuit parts in 2012 when a friend taught me how to make the hand paws and a head, and I was hooked. It didn't take long to learn the basics, but it took me a long time to get to the point I'm at today.

Each full suit takes 120-160 hours on average, and is crafted individually with love. I'm ever grateful to every one of my commissioners for allowing me to pursue this passion and for guiding me in new directions. I like to keep an open mind and not stick to one base or style.
I run the monthly fur order to bring furs from around the world into the UK for cheaper for UK based fursuit makers, and any surplus fur generated through this, along with some staple furs, can be found in my shop, as can any premades that may currently be available to purchase.
